LITTLE BY LITTLE / The Impossible is Possible

Hi, friends! Welcome back to my weekly series about making progress on what matters, little by little—along with a few links I think you might enjoy. In case you missed them, here are the past six weeks!

This update is short and sweet this week, since we are on staycation, and my mom is visiting!

Ari joined me this week on Facebook Live to talk about the story of our marriage crumbling, our faith journeys, our staycation goals, how we are raising our kids, UNC basketball, and lots more. To summarize our story: the impossible is possible.

Some thoughts on waiting.

I rarely talk about Southern Weddings because my day-to-day involvement has drastically changed over the last few years. I used to do it all: the layout, shoot creation, writing, etc. And now I oversee the business and heart of what we do. More here.

One of the shifts we made at our SW Team Retreat this year was to encourage more than just brides. Emily and Lisa are hosting a live webinar next Tuesday on how to be the ultimate maid of honor and bridesmaid, and Jess shared six ways to respond to the question “When are you getting married?

Speaking of live webinars, save the dates! I’m hosting two in August. On August 17th, I’ll be hosting a free Faith 101 webinar, where I’ll give you my ten keys to getting started with faith—or starting fresh. (And why I created Write the Word!) On August 31st, I’ll be digging into PowerSheets with you! Stay tuned for more details on how to sign up.

Fruitful Summer is coming to a close, but we’re already planning for our 2017 print magazine! Help us create meaningful content, and submit your stories and photos!

Okay, I told you this would be short and sweet! Time to get everyone here in the bath and ready for bed : ) For more from our week, click on my profile photo on Instagram. I love the new stories feature! For example…. these two.

P.S. If you have a prayer request, I’d love to pray for you. Leave it here in the comments. Remember, the impossible is possible.

Please pray for my sister’s healing. Her daily chronic headaches are preventing her from living her life. Lord, heal her in your time!

    • Lara on August 8, 2016 at 5:33 pm

Yes, I will pray for her. May the Lord heal her pain. You are a great sister to reach out and ask for prayer for her.

Hi Lara, I loved listening to you and Ari on Facebook live last week. Would you please pray for transformation in my marriage? We’ve had a very rocky year with the birth of our son really early, and as we are now finally coming up for air, everything seems a mess between us. I am so encouraged at the faith-centered home you and Ari seem to have and want that for our family as well; now more than ever because we have this precious child, a gift from God. Thank you for you ministry! Following you for more than 5 years strong! -Sara

You got it, friend. You have had such a challenging road, and it seems natural that stress would follow. But, the Lord can heal this and give you all a fresh start. I am praying for you all!

Hey, Lara! Thank you so much for asking for prayer requests. Would you please pray for my husband, Anthony, and I? We just celebrated our first wedding anniversary last week, and we have only survived this first year by God’s grace. 8 months ago, our marriage was in total shambles, and we are working on rebuilding love and trust, and working through our pasts. We are taking a trip to the NC coast this weekend to celebrate late/take some time for soul rest together and with the Lord. Would you please pray over us, and for healing? Knowing the impossible is possible (with the Lord!), Meredith

    • Lara on August 8, 2016 at 8:56 pm

Yes, just prayed! God can do powerful things in our surrender. Praying for you both!

  4. Lindsay on August 9, 2016 at 3:39 pm

Hi Lara! I have some very big decisions regarding a job coming up soon, that I need clarity and peace on. Thank you for praying!

    • Lara on August 9, 2016 at 9:00 pm

      Prayed, Lindsay! : )

Thank you for the Write the Word ( and please do not stop making them) when I am disciplined enough to use they are such a great starting point and include everything ( the Word, prayer, gratitude) Please pray for a renewed mind and renewed relationships! I just need a fresh start.

I’m so grateful to hear they have encouraged you, and not to worry — we have several new one’s in the works! : ) Yes, just prayed for you to be renewed. – Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit. (Psalm 51:10-12)
