Feeling SO READY for the new month ahead?
I’m right there with you—my plans didn’t go as planned in August!
You’re ready for a new month of fresh routines.
A month of getting the best things done.
A month of crisp air and being re-energized.
A month of intentional decisions.
A month of soul rest.
A month of savoring.
“Savor” means to enjoy something completely. Fully. All-in. This month, let’s do that. Let’s savor the little things that add up to our lives!
A quick progress update on my August PowerSheets goals and what I learned is below. I hope this encourages you to celebrate even the tiny victories!
August Monthly Goals:
— Do the Fresh Faith Challenge. / Our house sort of fell apart in August (exploding water heater flooded the kids’ room and our living room so the kids are all sleeping with us right now) and I count these 6 days of Writing the Word as a big win! I did it under the covers with soft light so I wouldn’t wake everyone at night. 🙂
— Number my days and gain a heart of wisdom. / Yes, the Lord did this for me. Through Eva and several family members having major health issues, I have been constantly reminded that this life is a GIFT and I want to live it with all of me for the glory of the Lord!
— Prepare for fall homeschool. / YES! I LOVE MY HOMESCHOOL PLANNER! Get it for free here.
— Finish the first draft of the book. / Yes! The first draft has been submitted for feedback to my editor! Yippee!
— Take a month of rest from the podcast. Hear that story here. / Yes, and taking most of September off, too. The next episode will be live for you on September 25th!
— Teach the “How to Cultivate Your Calendar” class with Shunta. / This was so much fun. You can catch the replay here.
August Weekly Goals:
— Prepare for Q4 / Yes! 2020 PowerSheets are coming October 16th!
— Enjoy the garden right where I am (listen in here for more!)
— Delight in our home. / Yes – from music to an abundance of library trips that have filled the house with books, there has been lots of delight in our house.
August Daily Goals: / Progress on all of them below!
— Cultivate my days
— Bible reading
— Run! Praise!
— Write the Word
Don’t miss these from August:
—There are only 25 tickets left for Cultivate Your Year Live!
—Enter the End of Summer Giveaway–it’s so good!
—Get back to what matters this coming season with us—this bundle is going fast.
—Learn 3 ways to cultivate your calendar with my dear friend Shunta Grant.
—Have you ever made plans—and they didn’t go as planned? Listen in to my story here and get 3 steps to move past frustration and disappointment. A must-listen (and my last podcast episode for a few weeks—you’ll get that story in this episode, too!).
On to September! Long story, but I unexpectedly have no childcare for most of September. I’m excited for this time with them and also excited to be the most efficient with work I’ve ever been. I’m not sure how it’s all going to work yet, but little by little, the best things will get done!
My goals in September are simple and purposeful—and more big-picture so I can be flexible in how I tackle them with the time I’m given.
September Monthly Goals:
— (In light of what I shared above…) Ask God to prioritize my days
— Do what’s most important in the big picture
— Finish the BOOK
— Delight in the Lord
— Enjoy the best month in the garden
September Weekly Goals:
— Cultivated homeschool begins!
— Pray over the 2020 PowerSheets. I’ll be praying over every set as they get nestled in our warehouse for launch day—that they would be filled with good things and help women to walk in the light of life!
September Daily Goals:
— Bible reading each morning
— Run!
— Re-creation

Yes! My top goals for September are to stay on top of lessons and really enjoy schooling together (starting our 3rd year of homeschooling next week!), continue creating spaces for everything in our home, and continue reading my bible every day with our church’s reading plan. 🙂 The end of the month is always a hard time for me (super tight financially), so it’s good for me to look back on August right now and see how good it actually was and how much I got done! Yay!!
-
I was so excited to do my powersheets for September. Fall always feels like a fresh start. 🙂 My goals for this month are a little less specific than last month. I want to set up our family calendar for the rest of the year and write a list of family traditions for fall and for the holidays.
-
A great start to our homeschool year, writing another flash fiction, and making a plan for fall blogging is on my monthly goal list for September! 🙂
-
Well, my goal for Sept is finding a job, as I was unexpectedly laid off on Monday. So that, and just enjoying the time home and hopefully I can use this extra time to get a few extra things done! Trying to be still, be positive, and let God do his thing!
-
1. Get back to a workout routine
2. Complete cabin kitchen Reno
3. “Cultivate” retreat -
My big monthly goal is:
Have a baby! 😆🙌🏻🙏🏻🤰🏻👶🏻 -
September goal is all about getting back into that school time routine. This year both of my children will be gone so I have goals to find activities that keep me productive while they’re gone without feeling like I have to always be just doing housework. Looking forward to October when the Powersheets comes out!
-
With two out of three kids in school this month, I’m going to work on starting a creative small business. It’s overwhelming but I’m trying to take it one small step at a time!

Use write the word journal daily. Create website. Be present-put down phone.

I’m excited (and very much asking for wisdom, patience, and heart eyes on eternal things) to homeschool my oldest of four this year. The Lord led the way for me to bring my 7th grader home from public school so I can have this extra time with him and hopefully have his heart cleave to mine and let him know he has my mama heart, too. The past few years have not been easy or “ideal”, but He’s been so faithful to me. A side-ish note; the Lord helped me make some big decisions this past year (including homeschooling) with Powersheets. I wanted to share bc I know that is one of Cultivate Your Life’s goals, to minister to women like me. Thank you! ☺️
-
My September goals will revolve around health. I’ve subconsciously convinced myself that I can’t do certain things and I’m ready to take those thoughts captive and replace them with truth. Even small progress is GOOD!
-
I’m so excited to be using PowerSheets for the first time! My word of the year is CLEAR. I’ve chosen to focus on two of my goals in September: clearing the mental clutter from my mind and the physical clutter from our home. Working through the PowerSheets has shown me how to break down my seemingly unachievable goals into small, manageable steps. For the first time in my life, I have a solid, realistic plan to help me get started and the motivation to keep going!
-
My #1 goal: finish all the tiny details for my daughter’s wedding in October. Everything is started and mostly well begun, but the goal is to finish strong so we can all enjoy the lead-up the first weeks of October without hustle and panic!
-
One of my goals in September is… well, I haven’t figured out how to word it quite right, but it is to express to my boys my pleasure in them. To smile aat ghem and leg them know I am pleased with them. Lately, my heart and even my facial expressions are serious and even stern, and I have seen how that deflages them. I want them to see how much I enjoy them. Your word here, delight, may just be the word I use as I figure out how to express this heart’s desire.
-
My September goals are big picture like yours. I am settling into a new season at work with some big transitions (your podcast on letting go of good things really resonates right now and is such a gift in this transition). My goals are aimed at remembering/reinforcing my “whys” — and also growing in grace. Thanks for all that you do to help!!
-
My September goal is to go to bed at 11pm, so I can rise earlier in the morning. Then in October, I’d like to bump it back to 10:30pm. Or is that bump it up?? Either way~eventual goal is 10:30pm. 😊
-
Intentional September goals: take my X-Ray certification class, lead a team training, and go for a run every day.
-
Some of my September goals include: preparing my oldest daughter’s transcripts, getting hurricane preparedness stuff together, have a weekly day of rest, daily read aloud time, and have a quiet read time. Your September goals look so great.
-
Thanks for this Lara! My August didn’t go as planned either, but this month I’m focusing on the simple and really trying to tend to the hearts in my home as we anticipate the arrival of our 3rd baby in September! 🙂
-
My big goals for September are cleaning the excess out of my house, implementing a plan to have my three daughters cook dinners one or two nights a month, and tending some friendships I want to grow. Thanks for all your encouragement!
-
I think I will make delight on my home a goal!! Thanks for the inspiration!
-
I apologize if this posts twice – I’m having issues. Lol I, too, decided to go more big-picture for September. My monthly goals are to Cultivate my marriage, read Missional Motherhood with a group of girlfriends, and to make a list of our family traditions for the fall and holiday seasons.
-
August didn’t go as planned as well. I spent the whole month filling out the beginning pages to the Powersheets. First timer! The Lord revealed many things. I didn’t think it would take me so long to write stuff down. I will be doin g the tending part for September this week. I am blessed by this book! And I can’t wait till the new 2020 one is available. Thank you Lara for creating these💗
-
Progress on my foreign language.
Begin fall clean out for yard sale & organize
Use my instant pot once a week.
Close the rings on my Apple Watch daily! -
My main goal for September is to finish decluttering my basement that I have been working on for months. Also to go to my church Women’s Retreat to get some needed rest and restoration.
-
My main focus this month is to “Remember WHY it MATTERS, and then go DO it!” After a very busy summer of pushing off some things I wasn’t excited about in order to go with the flow of FUN stuff, I’m taking September to settle, refocus, and get back into all the things the matter to me. I even tried a new method on my tending list, of writing my “Why” in the progress bars.
-
These are always so encouraging 🙂 Thank you for sharing! My main focus this month is to take every thought captive, LIVE His Word, Share the True Gospel & enjoy the weekly planning process of homeschool each week 🙂

I just “met” you in the Get Organized workshop. Your presentation stood apart because you are anointed and the light of God shone right through you. You just ministered hope to me and so many others. Thank you! I have never heard of your blog or company or resources before but I have already taken action steps on four of the goals I wrote during your segment. What a difference an HOUR can make. I am excited to get the party started!

I loved and really needed this. I’ve heard about numbering your days around Cultivate for a while. When I saw Psalm 90:12, I immediately opened my Bible there. Although the verse had already been highlighted, I re-underlined it and wrote 2020 next to it. Just a few hours we had an unexpected death in our family. This verse is what I’m clinging to right now.
Any recommendations on a Write The Word for a man who is grieving?

My goal is to dust off my power sheets and get to cultivated goal setting again! I took a 4 month break after having my baby, but I’m ready to be back at it!

Hey Lara and Team! It is September 20 and I just completed my Tending Sheet for September. I started the prep work for the month late last week and it stirred my dishearten unease to the top. After time in thought and answer tough questions I am back in and ready to follow where God leads more than ever! Based on the lead of my two toddlers one of my monthly goals is to cultivate faith in them. These two have shown great delight in praying each night before bed. The two year old proudly exclaims, AMEN! while the 4 year old is proudly learning to pray out loud with us.
