Let’s cozy up in that reading nook for all of Ja Let’s cozy up in that reading nook for all of January, shall we? And the photo of the couple makes my heart do cartwheels! Making my 2021 vision board brought me back to our @SouthernWeddings days. We’d see a field or a flower or a garden pathway and create a whole story around it—bringing it to life in words and photographs. What a joy! I felt the same joy collecting these images to tell the story of where I want to focus this year. My 2021 vision board, small steps I’m taking in January, and favorite books we’re reading with the kids are on the blog today. 💛🌱📚Read now at LaraCasey.com/blog or the link in my profile.
It’s a NEW DAY! 🎉 Hello NEW YEAR! 🌟 But, m It’s a NEW DAY! 🎉 Hello NEW YEAR! 🌟 But, maybe you woke up this morning and one of these crossed your mind:
.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“It’s January 1 and I’m already behind.”
“I don’t know what my goals are yet—I feel like it’s too late.”
“I haven’t followed through before, so why try?”
“I have to accomplish everything for the year right away or I’m a failure.”
“I have to make perfect progress.”
“I have to do MORE this year or I won’t be enough.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Dear 2021 Selves, you do not have to do it all, or make perfect progress, or have your goals perfectly formed by January 1 (February 1 can be your January 1 if you want!), or start flawlessly, or do more, or get it all done now.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
First of all,⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Have.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
364.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Other.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Days.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Who made up the rule that we have to have it all together on January 1 (or ever)? No one.
.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you know what WILL work for you this year, though? Cultivating what matters, little by little, over time. No perfect starts or perfect progress required.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You know all those things you’ve always wanted to do? They all start with small (sometimes imperfect) steps. ✨ I’m cheering you on—today and every day! What small step are you taking today? I’ll answer below, too!

Wow! I’m a bit at a loss for words. Today marks Wow! I’m a bit at a loss for words. Today marks 10 years of our annual Goal Setting Series together! 10 years! 🎉

Over the last 10 years, we’ve shared our fears, our hopes, our blunders, and our victories together. What a gift! I never imagined I’d be writing this series for so long—or how it would impact me personally.

This year's series is a little different and I'm kicking it off with 10 Things I Know For Sure from the last 10 years of goal setting—let's put number 6 on a bumper sticker, shall we?

We often say there's nothing magical about January 1. That's true. ✨Except for this year!✨ As we turn the page on 2020, I think there's something profound about choosing hope after the year we've had. I'm cheering you on as we both do the same!

Ready to run into 2021 like... 🎉 . No matter ho Ready to run into 2021 like... 🎉
.
No matter how something begins, or what happens in the middle, it’s the punctuation on the end that changes everything. Let’s put an exclamation point on this year and end it well, shall we?!

Praise the Lord for the thrill of hope this final month of the year brings. I’ve started my own PowerSheets and it feels revolutionary this year. We all need a moment to process 2020 to let it go and move forward. I have been craving this time to process and reframe my thoughts about the year.

Word by word, page by page, it’s happening. I feel the thrill of hope.
.
Swipe for a few favorite memories from the last month and read my December goals and more on the blog now - LaraCasey.com or the link in my profile. You’ll also find a note about how I’m doing things differently at the end of this year!
On January 1st this year, having no idea 2020 lay On January 1st this year, having no idea 2020 lay ahead, I did something intentional: I stepped away from social media and asked God to help me live numbered days.

I had just turned 40 and, in doing my PowerSheets, it all clicked. No more waiting for someday or till I had it “all together;” it was time to LIVE THIS LIFE!

Right here.
Right now.
I wanted to let go of distractions.
I wanted to enjoy this life, right where I am.
I wanted to do the things I’ve always wanted to do.

And that meant first stepping away from all the noise and opening a Write the Word Worship journal. This was my way to get directly into the Bible – no fluff – and get some clarity on what God wanted for my life. It became a safe space for me to write out all my thoughts and be nourished with the living and active Word.

As we near the finish line of this year like no other, I want to see this year through God’s lens, not mine or the world’s. I want to finish this year as I started it: focused on what matters and looking to the future with expectant hope!

Let’s do this together! 🎉 I’m overjoyed to invite you to the first-ever Write the Word Worship Online Bible Study with @proverbs31ministries!

This 21-day online study starts on November 30th. Sign up for the study NOW and grab your exclusive Worship journal made for Proverbs 31, based on our bestselling (and sold out!) @cultivatewhatmatters Write the Word Worship journal.
