Lara Casey Isaacson is an accomplished entrepreneur, author, and speaker.

As founder of Cultivate What Matters, Lara created the popular PowerSheets® Intentional Goal Planner, the Write the Word® Bible journals, and led the Making Things Happen Conference for over ten years and 55+ conferences.

She is the author of three bestselling books: Make it Happen, Cultivate, and Gracie's Garden. Lara also founded Southern Weddings magazine and enjoyed a partnership with Southern Living and TIME, Inc. She loves digging into functional medicine and fitness with her husband, Ari, and getting her hands dirty in the garden with her children in Chapel Hill, NC.

2002

I graduate from Carnegie Mellon University and become a personal trainer in New York City. It’s my first taste of helping people achieve their goals, and I am hooked.

2006

I marry the tall handsome Navy gent, who gets deployed to Iraq at our first wedding anniversary. Our marriage endures a challenging season.

2008

After a few years of planning luxury weddings, I publish the first issue of Southern Weddings Magazine. It takes off like a freight train in Georgia and my life takes off with it.

2009

I’m speaking, I’m traveling, I’m leading a growing company and team, and people begin asking me how I “do it all.” I publish a blog post - “How I Make Things Happen” - that quickly spins into a nationwide tour to help people get unstuck and move forward in their lives and businesses.

2011

By God's grace, our marriage grows! This is a turning point in my life, my ministry, and our company. I have proof that the impossible is possible! I plant my first garden and have my first baby, Grace.

2012

We offer the first PowerSheets Intentional Goal Planners for sale—just a few hundred black and white, loose-leaf goal-setting worksheets. They sell out almost immediately.

2014

My first book, Make It Happen, is published where I share my story of God making the impossible happen in my life and career.

2016

We add 2 new babies to our family and Cultivate What Matters grows, too! The Cultivate brand is so known for its joy and helping women across the world live out what matters.

2017

My second book, Cultivate, is published.

2018

After a decade, we retire Southern Weddings Magazine and reorganize our business and team to continue the growth of the Cultivate What Matters brand—helping women cultivate what matters in all stages of life!

2020

In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, we gain perspective—more than ever before—about what matters most. We start the year having no idea just how timely the message of the Gracie’s Garden children’s book will be: little steps taken in faith can add up, the rewards don’t just come in the harvest; they come in the wait if we’re willing to look around us.

2021

We celebrate 10 years of PowerSheets and thousands of dreams achieved little by little. Good things are growing!

2022 and Beyond!
