A recap of my #GetBranded Twitter Series via @LaraCaseyReps
#GetBranded Your “brand” is defined by everything from the way you send contracts to your website to the way you answer the telephone.
#GetBranded How are each of those things reflecting who you are/attracting who you want? Mirror to brides what you want to get back.
#GetBranded Elizabeth Messina sends contracts in the mail, in a beautiful box as a gift. Your art IS a gift.
#GetBranded How are you sending contracts? “Hi, contract attached. Have a good day.” How does this make your ideal client feel?
#GetBranded Add value to your brand. Find a way to *purposefully* deliver contracts, check in with clients, and build that relationship.
#GetBranded Examine every bit of your brand. How does each aspect make clients FEEL? Branding is all about gut reactions/emotions/feelings.
#GetBranded Do this: make a list of each aspect of your brand – website, blog, paper items, phone interaction, contracts, social media…
#GetBranded …ask yourself the following about each aspect: Is the way I am doing this building up my brand or am I just getting by?
#GetBranded Great branding has purpose. Period.
#GetBranded A great brand is consistent. Image processing is part of that. I should be able to look at an image and know that it’s yours.
#GetBranded To refine/define your brand, you have to first do your homework. Simple branding exercises to follow…
#GetBranded Do this: make a list of 10 words that define what you want brides to FEEL when they experience your brand.
#GetBranded Do this: Pull 10 images (not your own) that paint the visual picture of what you want you brand to make brides FEEL.
#GetBranded Do this: Find 5-10 non-wedding brands that you identify with. First impression gut reaction must be “this is so me”.
#GetBranded Great brands create community. Are you conversing with viewers or talking at them? Interact w/ readers in your comment
section.
#GetBranded You are your brand. @JoseVilla says when you go to his house, it’s just like his site. Authenticity is key.
#GetBranded Great branding should only last about two years. Your art, your client base and the market are always evolving. Are you?
#GetBranded Great advice from @CocktailTerrica. If you want to play in the luxury market, experience luxury service often. Know that value.
#GetBranded Invest in your visual identity. It’s half the battle. Relationships are the other half. Those are free.
#GetBranded Great brands reflect an extraordinary experience- from the first email to an anniversary card 5yrs later. Strive to OVERdeliver.
#GetBranded Is your passion for your art/life/family reflected in your brand? Showing that authentic passion can built trust.
#GetBranded Example: @ImageisFound posts pics of his kids. Makes me trust him and see the value he places on family…
#GetBranded …and that doesn’t work for everyone. He has found a way to reveal the humorous perils of parenting. Do what works for you.
#GetBranded Bottom line: show clients your heart through your branding. Reveal the authentic passionate you. Authenticity builds trust.
#GetBranded Small tip: Lose the music on your site! Could’ve been her breakup song. Music has strong connotations/emotional memory.
#GetBranded Clients always say “I want to attract high-end brides”. What does “high-end” really mean to you? Different for everyone.
#GetBranded Social media is free and essential to a great brand strategy. Feel lost? Get educated. Be a leader in it or don’t do it.
#GetBranded Don’t just use Twitter blindly. Have a brand mission for how and why you use social media for business. Write it down.
#GetBranded Marcy is brilliant. Read this… and the rest of her blog. RT @MarcyBlum: http://bit.ly/ObsQ8 Musings on Salespersonship.
#GetBranded Forget adding bonus items to packages. Add value to the EXPERIENCE. A unique client experience is viral, extra prints are not.
#GetBranded Great brands create culture. Apple/@VirginAmerica/Target doesn’t sell a product, they sell you a way of life…
#GetBranded …Would your ideal client want to live your brand’s way of life?
#GetBranded A disclaimer: branding is 100% individual. I can’t give you details without knowing your specific target market.
#GetBranded On that note, your art isn’t template, so don’t use cookie-cutter branding. “Custom” has a price for a reason.
