Your Goals Matter + 2018 PowerSheets Reveal Video

The 2018 PowerSheets Intentional Goal Planner releases one week from today, and what I’m about to say may make you do a double-take:

You don’t need PowerSheets to cultivate what matters.

Have they helped thousands of women? Yes.
Are the 2018 editions our best yet? Most definitely.
Do I believe that they will help you uncover and make progress on your goals? Yes, but you technically don’t need any thing to live intentionally.

There’s something you need before you even consider uncovering goals with the PowerSheets: one essential truth.

Want to know the rock-solid truth that I think we lose sight of most often?

We were created for a purpose.

Do you believe that? (And if you don’t, I’m so glad you’re here with me right now!) You see, there’s this thing that can happen when we look at other people’s lives, other people’s dreams, other people’s relationships or smarts or progress: comparison.

Comparison knocks us from “I have a purpose” to “I’m not as good as _____, so how can I have a purpose??”
Comparison is the greatest killer of contentment.
Comparison isn’t just the thief of joy, it’s the thief of everything.

My friend, if the Lord takes me home tomorrow, and this is the last note I ever get to type to you, I hope you let these words take root:

Don’t let comparison keep you from doing your life and your unique path.

You’re not “just” a stay at home mom (and let’s be real – there’s no “staying” when you’re a mom!).
You’re not “just” a student.
You’re not “just” an empty-nester.
You’re not “just” a ______ (fill in whatever it is you’ve caught yourself feeling lately).

You’re YOU.
Marvelous, wonderful you!

Your goals matter enough to cultivate them–growing them over time as you take small steps forward (and some big leaps along the way, too). Your cultivated life matters enough to tend it like a garden and trust that each effort invested will add up.

I’m a real person typing this to you. I’m not perfect. And yet, I know for sure I have a purpose. Do I sometimes lose sight of that? Yes! But that’s why I believe we were connected together–to keep each other holding on to the truth that what we do here together on this earth matters.

If you do choose to use the 2018 PowerSheets alongside me this year, I hope you live out these words and don’t let comparison distract you from getting after this life. And in the times you forget, I’ll happily remind you that living your unique purpose is about cultivating what you’ve been given (what you already have!): your relationships, your money, your work, your home, your health, and your time.

Everyone else is going to tell you to do it all, to be it all, and to do life like all those other people.

I’m not.

The most radical thing we can do is consistently walk our own unique path.
It’s okay to grow slow.
And failure is just fertilizer.

Have you struggled with comparison or saying “I’m just a ____?” I’d love to hear from you. And I’m so grateful to walk this path alongside you!

Oh, Lara, this post is so, so good! Just love your heart. I can absolutely relate… Often I feel the sting of “I’m just a single woman…” As a woman in her 30s still hoping and praying for marriage and a family, I know the danger of comparison well. It’s so easy to compare our life season and even milestones to those around us and those on social media. But to God, none of us “are just” anything. He is using each and every one of us for His beautiful plans and purposes. Thank you for the encouragement and creating your meaningful products. I am such a grateful customer! 🙂 Happy Reveal Day!

Hi, Katie! I am right there with you — my childhood dreams of being a wife and a mother are seeming farther and farther away! Thank you for your sweet heart, for fighting against comparison, and for pursuing the One who knows our every detail. Lara, thank YOU, for setting the table to meet our goals, and face our comparisons head on. Warm hugs and big love to y’all!

      Katie & Ashley,
I want to encourage you. God did not give me my sweet husband until I was 35 years old and he was 37. First marriage for both of us. He was definitely worth the wait!

Ashley and Linz, thank you both so much for your encouragement! 🙂 Your comments made my day! Linz, grateful for your sweet story and God’s faithfulness. It’s always such a blessing to hear others’ stories!

Oh Lara, Lara, Lara. THIS. This was so good to hear and read today. My favorite part? The reminder to cultivate what we’ve already been given. So often I get lost in my own dreams, trying to figure out how to get there instead of tending to what I have now! And you know what? Comparing myself to my own ideals leaves me feeling just as exhausted. Thanks for sharing this today, my friend! Can’t wait to get those new PowerSheets and products in my hands!

“Failure is just fertilizer.” I absolutely love that! I don’t tend to compare myself so I look forward to walking my own path but when I fail/trials come up/things just aren’t working, I tend to become sluggish in my path. (Heb 6:12) Remembering that failing and those hard seasons are needed in order to grow. Beautiful reminders. Always just what I needed.

I know you said something about a possibility to have a dated planner within the power sheets. Was that referring to the calendar print out or is there something else that goes with it? Also, I assume it’s a month calendar page that is printed with each day being a little square, yes?

  5. Baylie on October 19, 2017 at 10:19 am

Oh and two more things! 1.) Is the color coded system explained within the Power Sheets or just in the sticker book? and 2.) The link to the Product Guide isn’t working for me.

I’m getting really excited about the Power Sheets. I’ve really never set goals in an intentional way so I am looking forward to seeing what happens even though I admit (like I did yesterday on Instagram) to being a bit overwhelmed by the prospect. I’m stepping out in faith with this.

I love this post! I’m getting ready to transition from full time employee to part time SAHM, full time small business owner. I’ve been fighting a case of the “justs,” and this is so encouraging! thank you!

  8. Linz on October 20, 2017 at 12:12 am

I also am so excited about getting my hands on the Power Sheets. I have not ever really set goals before, but it seems doable, how Lara has shared. Thankful that you all will continue to walk by our side as we attempt to.

I am so looking forward to getting my hands on my first set of Powersheets. Lara has encouraged me to take the driver seat of my own life. As a working mother, wife and multiple sclerosis fighter, I often feel at the bottom of my priority list. I can’t wait to dig in and set positive, nurturing goals.

  10. Ashley on October 21, 2017 at 10:32 pm

Dang! I’ll be working during the launch! 🙁

  11. Jennifer on October 23, 2017 at 9:53 pm

I can’t wait for the launch! I’ve always been into goal setting and I like the way you think about goals, Lara. I think the 12 month powersheets book is going to be exactly what I need to put all that stuff in one place and stay motivated and inspired!
